Clan Meteoris

Brutallus is dead

brut

Before the patch, Clan Meteoris was one or two attempts away from defeating him. After the patch, we brought in too many healers, apps that had never seen the fight before, and had lag and UI issues and defeated him on the first pull of the night.

Some may complain that the game is a "joke" now and things are too easy. I will agree, raiding is much easier now than before the patch. I see this as an absolute good thing. At least for now, the gates into content have been blown open to all different skill levels of guilds. No longer are the upper elite few able to see, experience, and benefit from the majority of development.

As many know, I've been very critical of WoW's raid direction over the years. Unlike many others in higher end guilds, I feel the game is too hard. I feel TBC was, for the most part, a horrible failure. Raiding has reached a level of dedication that leaves the realm of gaming and enters the realm of a job.

If Wrath continues on the path of this most recent patch (raid bosses not being incredible road blocks for most guilds), I believe Blizzard would have made a significant step forward in their raid game. Surely many raiding guilds will be disrupted, disenchanted, and just plain upset. If Wrath fails to innovate and brings back the mentality of only the upper .5% of players seeing end game content, Clan Meteoris will more than likely not survive long in the next year. If it does innovate, and releases the iron grip on the upper tiers, Clan Meteoris will thrive and most certainly survive the newest expansion coming up.

Sunwell has been penetrated

kalecgos

Five months later, our progression has moved forward. The familiarity of Kael'thas is too great to ignore. Hurray for artificially created road blocks to hold content progression at a manageable rate to slow the need for new content! The difference is this time we got the kill in BEFORE the nerf (or in this case, the talent patch that will trivialize most of the current raiding zones).

Everyone involved did a great job. Sunwell is certainly an area where guilds must flex their guild banks, and we certainly did not flinch. I'd be curious to see how much money it costs the guild each time we step into Sunwell.

Brutallus awaits, and with him an even larger investment in consumables and raid stacking. Now, where did I put my pocket shaman?

The Betrayer has been defeated

illidan

It has been done. The reign of Illidan over the peoples of Outland has come to an end. WoW:TBC, for most intents and purposes, has been beaten. Sunwell will have its time, too, but for now, it's largely out of reach for the average raiding guild.

I'd like to personally thank, not just everyone who was in the raid, but everyone who was ever involved, that helped accomplish this goal. All of the social members and applicants that sat on the sidelines as backup, all of the folks who can't raid every night but show up when they can and perform to their fullest. All of the raiders that canceled and reworked their schedules to assure attempts.

Although we killed Illidan with only 24 people in the raid, this accomplishment was an effort of everyone who has ever held the Clan Meteoris tag. Those who helped break into Karazhan. Those who stuck through the horrible transition between having only Maulgar as a raiding option to T5 zones opening up. Those who toiled through the horrible, horrible atrocity that is Kael'Thas. Those who kept logging on when we struggled (but still did!) to fill raids between long progression gaps. Even those of you who helped in Naxxramas assured that this guild stayed together and continued to prosper into the expansion.

So, thank you to everyone past and present who has been a part of Clan Meteoris. This is a win for all of us, and something to certainly be very proud of.

...now begins the Warglaive hunt.

Illidan's council defeated

council

The council of four, the final barrier between Illidan and the forces of Akama, Maiev, and Clan Meteoris has been defeated. All that stands between us and the Betrayer's demise is time and the ability to repeat each week the successful raiding routine!

Illidan Before

Soon...(4-6 weeks!)

Your mother was a snowblower

mother

Mother Shahraz has been defeated. A technically bland fight, the only real obstacle guilds face when fighting her are the massive amounts of shadow resist farming that takes place...and teaching raid members the difference between their right and left.
